"Most of my dreams are really violent. But then, obviously, my life is pretty crazy. So I have those kinds of dreams, where people are chasing me or I'm naked - you know, exposed. Also I dream of children a lot. Specifically, I see different people in my life as children. That maybe because, in a way, I feel I take care of a lot of people. But yes, dreams, are an important part of my life".

"No sound" dream of Madonna

"I had those dreams when my mother died. For a five-year period that was all I was dreaming about that people were jumping on me and strangling. I was constantly screaming for my father and no sound would come out."

The interpretation

"I am a very tormented person. I have a lot of demons I am wrestling with" admits Madonna. The death of her mother is the biggest demon of all. "It was the single greatest event in my life, my mother dying. What happened when I was five years old changed forever how I am". The dream holds the proof.

A little girl lost in the storm is calling for her father. This dream is about vulnerability, helplessness and insecurity - all of which Madonna had to live through when her mother died. All this vulnerability -helplessness - insecurity stuff will be later banned by Madonna from her life. Unconsciously and forever.

Vulnerable - Helpless - Insecure Madonna? Never. It sounds more like an oxymoron. Madonna has always been afraid of being portrayed as vulnerable. This created an image of a power-hungry, confident super (material) woman. However, they say that Madonna hates when people call her The Material Girl.

This unability of "letting go" (we are talking yoga here) also left a subtle trace on Madonna's Hollywood career. Madonna has been having visible difficulties acting or letting go of Madonna as we all know her. Madonna is excellent in "Truth or Dare", but there she is playing herself.

Is Madonna a "control freak"? Probably yes, but less and less so. Yoga, psychoanalysis, and spiritual practices probably started yielding the results. Have you seen Madonna's 2003 TV interviews? For the first time Madonna doesn't appear defensive. She actually appears as a "nice" person in those interviews. Does it mean that her demons are leaving her alone? What are we going to do when all of her demons are gone?

Sweet dreams, Girl :-)
