"I had this dream around the time of Evita. In
the dream, Madonna was in a hotel doing a photo shoot on the
penthouse floor. I was downstairs in the lobby and there was
a lot of commotion with the paparazzi trying to get in to take
pictures of Madonna. The hotel staff was doing their best to
keep them away. Then I noticed one guy slipped by and was heading
toward the elevator. I ran to chase him and then we started
to have a fistfight because I wanted to stop him. After I did,
I jumped in the elevator to let Madonna know what happened.
And after I told her, she hugged me and said "Thank You".
But it was more than just a hug. I really felt her body press
up against me and it was such a relief to touch her that way.
I will never forget that feeling, ever!"
INTERPRETATION
Angel,
your dream is about your (possibly unconscious) wish to have
sex with Madonna. How so? Let's take a look.
In
your dream Madonna is having a photo shoot on top of the building,
while you are downstairs in the lobby. This vertical distance
between you two can be shortened by means of an elevator. Well,
Freud would says right away that an elevator is a powerful sexual
symbol. But since I am a bit skeptical that an elevator is an
exclusively sexual symbol, let's hold on to it before we find
some more, if any, sexual symbolism in your dream.
As
your dream goes on, you find yourself chasing and fist fighting
with someone who wants to get to see Madonna on the top floor
of the hotel despite tight security. What's wrong with that?
Absolutely nothing is wrong with that. But you know who was
that person you had to chase and then fight? It was you!
In
the beginning of the interpretation I said that your wish to
have sex with Madonna might be unconscious. Unconscious meaning
that you are either unaware of it, or the idea of it makes you
feel uncomfortable and therefore you repress it, and it gets
buried in the back of your mind.
Dreams are made of the stuff that is kept in the back of our
minds. That "back-of-the-mind" stuff always wants
to get out into the light of the day. And it does so by disguising
itself. In order not to disturb us, our repressed wishes appear
as totally innocent episodes. That's exactly what happens in
your dream. Through the episode of chasing and fighting an intruder,
your mind created a noble reason for YOU to get what you unconsciously
wanted - meet Madonna.
Madonna gave you that special hug. She pressed her body against
yours in a very special way which you said you'll never forget.
Now, this + the elevator sounds like a sexual content to me.
Mission fulfilled. Satisfaction achieved.
